Job Overview
This position is responsible for SSD firmware development. As a senior firmware engineer, this role focuses on designing, coding, and testing specific modules within the embedded SSD firmware stack. The Firmware Engineer will gain hands-on experience with embedded C/C++ programming, NAND flash management, and host storage protocols (PCIe/NVMe or SATA). This position requires a strong foundation in computer architecture, a proactive learning attitude, and a collaborative mindset to assist the team in delivering high-quality storage solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with firmware engineers to design, develop, and maintain specific embedded firmware modules for SSD products.
- Participates in the implementation of firmware features across various subsystems, which may include the Flash Translation Layer (FTL), host interface (NVMe/SATA), or manufacturing test tools.
- Assists in debugging firmware issues, executing unit tests, and analyzing system logs to identify the root causes of failures.
- Creates and updates technical documentation related to firmware design, code implementation, and testing procedures.
- Actively learns and builds expertise in PCIe/NVMe protocols, NAND Flash memory characteristics, and hardware-software integration.
- Works closely with the software and validation teams to support automated testing environments and reproduce bug scenarios.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/electronic engineering or relevant departments
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in embedded software/firmware development.
- Deep proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming within resource-constrained environments (e.g., ARM architecture).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
