Overview
The Product Marketing Manager, Datacenter Software, will be a key contributor to help grow the AI datacenter business by developing positioning and messaging that differentiates Penguin Solutions’ cluster management software and associated services. You will be an integral part of a cross-functional team and serve as a critical link between Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Partner Alliances, Marketing and Business Development. This role reports to the Senior Director of Product and Solutions Marketing and will be focused on accelerating Penguin Solutions’ AI business.
Our ideal candidate is someone with strong understanding of enterprise software stacks, particularly AI infrastructure software, and experience marketing to IT buyers. Penguin Solutions’ software and services represent a significant area of revenue growth over the next several years as organizations deploy and build out AI infrastructure. You will play a central role in go-to-market efforts by developing content, proof points, and enablement for Sales and Marketing teams. This individual understands the Buyer Journey, customer POV and requirements, and software delivery models.
Responsibilities
- Positioning & Messaging for Penguin Solutions’ software portfolio
- Develop positioning and messaging that engages target buyers in the Enterprise IT and Cloud Solution Provider space
- Validate messages with customers, partners, and industry analysts; incorporate customer evidence
- Train internal and external teams on product features and benefits, key messages, and value propositions
- Software and Services Launches
- Develop and manage launch plans, including cross-functional implementation
- Own the software and service launch process; ensure organizational readiness and successful go-to-market execution
- Content Development and Enablement
- Author whitepapers, demand generation assets, and sales enablement materials in collaboration with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing
- Codify Sales Plays to scale sales capability and ensure consistent messaging and customer engagement
- Train Sales and partners teams on Sales Play use and incorporate feedback to refine
- Identify customer references and document use cases, either named or anonymized, to demonstrate customer evidence and empirical examples
- Market Insights & Analysis
- Conduct win/loss analysis through customer interviews, surveys, or other empirical inputs
- Track select competitive solutions and competitors’ messaging and marketing strategies
- Distill and curate key learnings to contribute to future sales and marketing direction and messaging
- Present insights and recommendations to Sales, Product Management, Marketing and P&L leaders
Qualifications
- Key Attributes
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, drive consensus, and align on priorities
- Understanding of enterprise software stacks, ideally emerging AI technology stacks, and related applications –cybersecurity, Kubernetes, Slurm, etc.
- Ability to develop clear, consistent and credible messages that resonate with customers including specific industries or verticals
- Analytical and research-based approach to messaging and positioning
- Ability to work independently and drive outcomes
- Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
- Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, or similar roles with B2B software; AI and HPC infrastructure experience preferred
- Track record of marketing enterprise software and datacenter hardware technologies
- Direct experience with customer engagement and development of customer relationships
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, business or related
This is a remote position in the United States.
Travel
10% domestic travel
Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $110,000 - $155,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
