Overview

The New Product Introduction Engineer will lead continuous process improvement efforts, improve cost effectiveness and quality of Integrated Memory products. The position requires excellent problem-solving skills, use of quality tools, technical expertise in electronics manufacturing and system building of servers, storage and networking equipment.

Responsibilities

The NPI Engineer responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Support new product introduction into the manufacturing environment from prototype phase to high volume manufacturing.
  • Drive process development & optimization, through design of experiments, for diverse set of products including high density memory modules, embedded flash assemblies and 3D packages.
  • Solve complex process engineering problems in a creative and effective way and drive solutions through successful implementation.                    
  • Perform DFM reviews across a broad range of products and provide technical guidance to engineering teams worldwide.
  • Provide technical support on NPI and Process related issues to internal as well external customers.
  • Support product reliability & qualification efforts.
  • To drive process improvements for SMT manufacturing, mechanical assembly operations, PCBA rework process and additional engineering functions
  • To develop new capabilities for business development and deployment of new equipment for production
  • To develop, implement and monitor quality control activities for manufacturing processes
  • To work with Design, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality teams for enhancing product and process quality
  • To meet regulatory requirements for SMART products, labeling requirements, packaging needs, product and process qualification tasks
  • To work with customers, suppliers and external labs on quality issues and failure analysis efforts
  • Use of quality tools and lean tools for waste elimination and productivity increase

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Ability to select and qualify engineering materials such as thermal interface material for heat sinks, adhesives for electronics, underfill materials, conformal coating, tooling needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data-driven decision making using Six Sigma tools and methodology to analyze process performance, identify root causes, and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Good communication skills to interact with customers

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Newark, CA is $110,400 - 135,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
