Overview
The Senior Director, Strategy & Corporate Development will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy. This leader will help develop and manage a strong pipeline of acquisition and partnership opportunities and lead end-to-end deal execution—from target identification and due diligence through closing and integration—to ensure sustained value creation. Serving as a key liaison with internal business leaders, this individual will help drive strategic alignment across the organization. The position requires exceptional executive communication skills, agility in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to lead effectively across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and execute the company’s overall M&A and strategic investment strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Lead the full deal lifecycle:
- Target identification, market/competitive intelligence, and opportunity assessment
- Build business cases, valuation models, ROI and synergy analysis
- Lead diligence (commerical, financial, operational), structuring (cash, stock, earn-outs), negotiation and closing activities
- Manage post-transaction integration: define and monitor KPIs, realize synergies, ensure successful operationalization of acquired or partnered assets.
- Prepare executive-level and board-level materials: investment memos, presentations, transaction updates, strategic reviews.
- Support the broader Corporate Development Group on strategic planning, portfolio management, and competitive landscape analysis.
- Represent the company externally in meetings with potential partners and targets.
- Monitor market/industry trends: competitive dynamics, consolidation opportunities, technology disruption relevant to Penguin Solutions’ growth markets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience spanning both product / technology related roles and corporate development, with demonstrated success in start-up environments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, technical acumen, and analytical skills.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
- Highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Maynard is $200,000 - $240,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
