Senior Hardware Design Engineer, CXL Memory Products
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of next-generation CXL3 memory add-in boards for enterprise and data center applications. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of high-performance computing by designing cutting-edge hardware that pushes the boundaries of bandwidth, latency, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design high-speed memory add-in boards leveraging CXL3 for enterprise-grade systems.
- Own the full hardware development lifecycle: schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, signal integrity analysis, bring-up, validation, and production release.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration and production readiness.
- Perform detailed design reviews and drive best practices in high-speed board design.
- Optimize designs for performance, power, and reliability in demanding data center environments.
- Writing of detailed functional specifications for products being worked on where needed.
- Interface with vendors and partners to evaluate components and technologies aligned with product goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in hardware design and board-level development, with a proven track record of taking multiple designs into production.
- Deep expertise in high-speed board design involving DDR memory subsystems.
- Strong familiarity with PCIe Gen 5 or higher protocols and layout constraints.
- Proficient in schematic capture tools (e.g., OrCAD, Altium) and simulation tools for signal/power integrity.
- Solid understanding of board bring-up, debugging techniques, and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
- Experience working in enterprise or data center hardware environments.
- Problem solver with ability to operate independently, do own background research where needed.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience designing CXL-based memory or accelerator boards.
- Familiarity with thermal and mechanical design considerations for high-power boards.
- Exposure to FPGA or ASIC integration in board-level designs.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards for enterprise hardware
- Understanding of existing PCIe SIG, CXL Consortium, JEDEC and other related standards.

Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in is $160,000-$190,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
