This position in the LED Products Pilot Line group will be responsible for developing high power LED assembly processes that result in rapid time to market of new products. This position is not eligible for sponsorship by the company. This is a high – visibility position with strong potential for career growth within a thriving organization.
*This position is for a 12 hour BE day shift. * (6AM-6PM Thursday-Saturday and E/O Wednesday)
Responsibilities
- Learn and perform tasks related to the mechanical assembly, optical and electrical testing, and characterization of LEDs.
- Support product development by executing electrical, mechanical and photonic for next generation packaged LED solutions.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develop a strong understanding of the complete assembly process flow for the product line, and effectively communicate procedures for tool sets, applying observational skills to process adjustments as needed.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for new processes and work instructions following process development.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve processing issues, and recommend preventive maintenance.
- Assist equipment engineering with tool troubleshooting and scheduled preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience and HS diploma
- Ability to work effectively in a clean room environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
- Flexible with work schedule and the ability to work overtime on short notice
- Able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, hand dexterity, and attention to detail
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of photonic systems (e.g. spectrometers, photonic measurements and LED metrology) desired
- Knowledge in die attach, wire bonding, and encapsulation processes.
- This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
Location
This role requires on-site work at our Durham, N.C. campus. The company is unable to provide relocation assistance for this role.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Durham, NC is $19-21; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
