This is an entry-level hybrid role designed for a motivated, reliable individual looking to build a career in facility safety (EHS) and logistics operations. As an Operations Support Technician, you will assist with the physical and digital movement of goods while helping maintain a secure and compliant workplace. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with a customer-service mindset who is eager to learn complex systems and works well in a team-oriented environment. This is an onsite Monday–Friday role, scheduled from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with occasional weekday on-call responsibilities to address urgent safety and shipping needs.
Responsibilities
Logistics and Warehouse Support
- Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse by using 5S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to ensure a clean and efficient workspace.
- Process domestic and international shipments using FedEx software, ensuring accurate labeling, proper HTS codes, and required documentation.
- Execute daily SAP transactions, including Goods Receipts, Stock Transport Orders (STOs), Purchase Orders, and Service Confirmations.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely receipt, verification, and proper staging of incoming materials.
- Follow strict guidelines for the specialized packaging and labeling required for shipping hazardous materials by land and air.
- Safely move industrial drums and heavy containers using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and drum dollies.
EHS and Emergency Response Support
- Act as a peer mentor on the floor, promoting a culture of safety by guiding and educating employees on proper material handling and PPE usage in a constructive, non-confrontational manner.
- Join the EHS Manager in daily contractor safety walks and facility audits to help identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Serve as an active member of the ERT, responding to onsite medical emergencies and leading chemical spill cleanups.
- Assist with labeling waste streams and maintaining hazardous waste accumulation areas in compliance with RCRA and DOT regulations.
- Serve as a backup point of contact for DEQ and other government inspectors during site visits.
Administrative and Digital Tracking
- Maintain safety logs, shipping reports, and inventory data using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Utilize Brightly software to log safety inspections and manage facility compliance data.
- Ensure all hazardous waste manifests and regulatory documents are accurately filed and tracked digitally.
Training and Professional Development
We are committed to professional growth. Comprehensive training will be provided for all specialized systems and certifications, including:
- SAP logistics modules and FedEx shipping platforms.
- IATA Dangerous Goods Certification (Required within 90 days).
- RCRA and DOT Hazardous Materials certifications.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Qualifications
- Reliability and punctuality to support emergency response and shipping deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail to manage inventory and maintain documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Procurement, and R&D.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and handle 55-gallon drums using appropriate moving equipment
- Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (including respirators and chemical-resistant gear) without restriction when performing safety or response duties.

Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in North Carolina is $22-26 per hour; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
